TAROT:

Tarot is a tap into the subconscious.

It can be very enlightening. There are many
ways to read tarot depending on your given
  mood and question.

If your reader predicts death or something
  catastrophic they are probably inexperienced
  or after your money.

My advice is find a new reader.

Tarot readings are not set in stone.

They are predictions that can be changed
  by right or wrong action.

  Nothing is infallible.
  Readers make mistakes too.

What are tarot cards used for?

Tarot cards are not a game.
You don't play them. They are read.

Though they indicate future possibilities
they do not tell one's fortune.

(Telling one's fortune indicates the seeker has no choice.)

Tarot cards are a tap into the subconscious.
By reacting to their indications one can gain
       great insight, and act accordingly.

Are tarot cards good or bad?

Tarot cards are inanimate.
They are neither good nor evil.
(It is the reader who may be good or evil.)

There are a lot of misconceptions about tarot.
Generally we fear what we do not understand.

Are tarot cards the work of the devil?

Many of the have deeply religious meanings.

Three Christian angels appear on my cards
and many of the numbers have Christian meanings.

One stands for creation and the One God.
Threes stand for the Trinity among other things.
God rested on the seventh day and sanctified it.
There are seven virtues, seven vices, and
       seven deadly sins.
Tens represent perfection through completion.
There are many more religious links and meanings.

Some decks specialize on the religious aspects.
(Angels Tarot and Angel Messenger Cards are two such decks.)

Are tarot cards always right?

Some tarot readers believe the cards are never wrong, just misinterpreted.
It is my belief that the cards can be off for one reason or another.

(The seeker may be thinking of something else besides the question.)
(The seeker may withhold information important to the question.)
(The reader may be sick or have an off night.)
(The tarot cards may not be attuned for some reason.)
(The answer may not have shuffled in.)

In these cases I feel it is best to admit that the reading did not work
and press on. It is best to give another tarot reading rather than to
try to make it work when something has gone terribly wrong.

note: this is rare and most of the time tarot is very accurate

  My favorite tarot spreads are
  Celtic cross, three card,
  and time-line.

I use the rider tarot deck.

(I like it because it has
  traditional symbolism.)

To purify your deck and area
  try salt sprinkled ritually.

  Sage smoke, incense, and
  rose crystal also keep the
  deck in harmony with you.

(My tarot deck is wrapped in
dark cloth with a small rose
  crystal resting on top.)

When reading tarot or
following a reader's advice,
it is best to use your intuition.

Follow what you feel is
intuitively correct.

Use your head and not
your emotions.

Note: No tarot reading is set in stone.

If you feel something is not right
  follow your intuition.

You are in control of your own fate.
Your actions good or bad determine the outcome.

Do not let a couple of cards deter you from your goals.

Tarot cards are only indicators of what might be.

By selecting a path, you determine
what the final outcome will be.

The mind is more powerful than we can ever imagine.
